About the organization:
The Spencer Shallenberger Foundation was formed in 2022 after an ATV accident took the life of their oldest son, then 14, Spencer. Spencer loved spending time with family and friends outdoors. He had a passion for Trap shooting. The sport taught him about himself, how to treat others, about being helpful, respect and confidence.
The Spencer Shallenberger Foundation was formed in 2022 after an ATV accident took the life of their oldest son, then 14, Spencer. Spencer loved spending time with family and friends outdoors. He had a passion for Trap shooting. The sport taught him about himself, how to treat others, about being helpful, respect and confidence.
After Spencer’s passing, his family decided the best way to honor and remember him would be to start a foundation. They want to continue to spread the word about the safest and fastest growing high school sport along with helping other schools keep their programs going. They also want to be able to help financially support families within this sport.
Fundraising efforts have allowed them to give money to local teams, set-up scholarships at FLB high school, and free clinics allowing anyone to come try the sport with no commitment on their part.
“The more we can fundraise, the more we can give back. That’s our whole mission: to educate people about this sport, keep it going in our community and to make trying out attainable.”
